How to use the course

So now I've introduced myself and hopefully got your creative juices flowing, let's recap on how to use the course:

The course is made up of 14 modules which you can work through at your own pace and repeat as many times as you wish. It contains a variety of teaching methods, including textural content, plentiful images, printable sheets and videos.

Modules 2 to 6 take you through all the decision making that you need to complete before you start making a blind, or even go fabric shopping.

Modules 7 to 13 take you through the process of making a Roman Blind sample that has a finished size of 60cm wide with an 80cm drop. As tempting as it is to launch straight into making a blind for a window in your own home, I would highly recommend working through the modules and making a sample size first. This way you can get to grips with the process and technique before adapting it to your dimensions and cutting into any precious or expensive fabric. It won't take long I promise!

Module 14 guides you through a number of techniques and methods to elevate your basic Roman Blind into something even more special. It covers how to make a blind with cascading pleats, how to add trims and contrast panels and how to use metal eyelets on your rod pockets.

Put the kettle on, set aside some quiet time and enjoy the process!
